Randy bought us the game “X-Men: Legends” to play on our GameCube and it is fun and horribly addicitve. I always thought I’d want to be Storm as she was my favorite character in the comic book and I coveted her power to control the weather as she never felt cold — I’m always cold. Surprisingly, I prefer to play as Wolverine. I find myself being point and running first headlong into harm’s way. Fortunately for me, Wolverine has amazing regenerative capabilities and it’s almost as good as having a cheat code to insure one’s survival. It doesn’t hurt that he (I) can slash things to bits with his (my) claws. We tend to dismember everything in sight in that game. “Yeah, that chair is in a bad spot. I better tear it apart with my claws before someone trips over it. Cyclops, give me a hand.”
The play itself is great although most of the dialogue exchanges between characters are terrible. Even Patrick Stewart doing the voice of Professor Xavier can’t bring credibility to such poor writing and the other actors sound as if they’re in a high school play. Still, the play is entertaining and well worth wading through the exposition given by the characters.
Avalon decided his fun would be to inhabit the box I just unpacked. To each his own.
