Food fit for “The King”

Posted on Monday 9 May 2005

I missed the big Elvis made-for-tv movie yesterday which is a shame. Although I’ve never been a big fan, he’s always been a fascinating figure for me. I’m sure the name “Elvis” existed before Mr. Presley but for years to come, it will be singularly associated with one man.

Out of his legacy, my favorite will be the sandwich he made famous: peanut butter and banana. I’ve not tried it fried (yet) but having had a recent craving perhaps brought about by all the hype regarding this movie, I must admit to a recent run of having this strange treat for dinner for several nights now. I don’t think this fits well into my low-carb attempts so hopefully this craving will be short-lived. Oh well. Hail to the King, baby.
