Eldar at Christmas

She is staying at the veterinarian’s office for the next two days receiving intravenous fluids which will hopefully “jump start” her kidneys. Unfortunately, we may have acted too late but we’ll see what her test results are on Friday.

Randy adopted Eldar just a few months before we were married over nine years ago. It’s hard to imagine our home without her.

I added a profile for Eldar to catster.com less than a month ago. At the time she weighed 9 lbs. (down from a high several years ago of over 14 lbs.) but was just 6.6 lbs this morning at the vet.

We don’t believe that animals have souls but we do believe that in the end, God will redeem all creation and we take comfort in that.

Colossians 1:20 (from The Message)
Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe–people and things, animals and atoms–get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the Cross.

Ephesians 1:8-10 (from The Message)
He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.

I am so sorry to hear that. The doiuble edged sword of pet ownership is that we love our animals. When they are young and healthy it is a source of comfort and joy; when they begin to age and become sick it is a source of sorrow and loss.

I hope everything goes well for her at the vet. Call us and let us know what happens.
