With today’s high being around 98 degrees, it’s hard to believe that autumn is just around the corner which is lovely as autumn is my favorite time of year. School has already started here and Cracker Barrel has its Halloween merchandise out already. Although I don’t enjoy the hot weather, there are some things I will miss when summer is over:
Having a good excuse to get a Blizzard from Dairy Queen
Good, fresh produce at Kroger (our grocery store)
Flower pots full of blooms lining the walkway to our front door
Wearing Birkenstock sandals to work
Strawberry pie topped with real whipped cream
Lots of movies to choose from at our local theatre
Going barefoot as much as possible (oh wait, I do that year-round)
Having more daylight hours to do stuff
Fresh corn on the cob
Using my car’s sunroof
Playing in the waves on the beach in Ocean City, MD
Eating dinner on our patio table
Lightning bugs
