Just thought I’d give you a little update on Dooley, the kitten we rescued a few weeks ago. He has settled in nicely with our friends Todd and Emily and is getting along with one of his new brothers Sachi. His other new brother George doesn’t particularly like him but it’s still a pretty new situation for everyone and we’re hoping for a good balance eventually. I’ve posted a couple more pictures of Dooley on our flickr.com account. He’s a cutie!
One of the best books on cats I’ve read is “Cat vs. Cat: Keeping Peace When You Have More Than One Cat” by Pam Johnson-Bennett. Johnson-Bennett is a feline behaviourist and provides good insight and information on the special challenges of a multi-cat home. We’ve applied some of her knowledge and have a much more peaceful home for our three cats: Eldar, Avalon and Maximus.
Eldar has gained some weight since we started to address her feline chronic renal failure. She is responding well to the sub-cutaneous fluid treatment and Randy hasn’t fainted once from dealing with needles every morning for her injections! (I was worried for a while but my Randy has shown his mettle.) Although Eldar’s kidneys will never fully recover, she is her normal self, demanding treament as queen of all she surveys and has even gained 1 1/2 pounds back. We knew she was bad when her brother Maximus was being nice to her. Now that she’s doing better, he’s teasing and tormenting her as normal. It’s funny how the cats know these things about each other.

Hi Aunt April! is he cute? luv, taylor
I may be partial as I am Dooley’s godmother (or “ninang” in Filipino/Tagalog), but I think Dooley is adorable.
