I uploaded some of our pictures from our second day in Las Vegas to our flickr photostream.
I dragged Randy into Madame Tussaud’s to see the wax figures. It was a throwback to my childhood when we would go to Victoria, British Columbia and somehow we’d always go to the Royal London Wax Museum. I hadn’t been to another wax museum in about 25 years so it was interesting to see Madame Tussaud’s. (The Royal London Wax Museum had wax figures of people being tortured and beheaded using medieval devices. I understand now that these kinds of displays are popular in Europe but I’m sure it had to have an adverse affect on my 8-year-old psyche. If I ever get back to Victoria, I’d love to see the museum again but through the eyes of an adult.)
The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino is one of our favorite hotels in Las Vegas. I love the architecture and the layout of the shops. The piazza is especially lovely with little shops surrounding it and if you’d like a treat, there is a gelato stand.
We didn’t opt for a gondola ride but perhaps if we make it to Europe someday, we’ll do the real thing.
