Now just having a few days to unpack our apartment, the Thanksgiving holiday has pulled me away from languishing in our sea of boxes to Randy’s parents’ home.
Today the women on his side of the family will descend upon The Mall at Robinson and the surrounding bevy of stores just west of Pittsburgh, PA in Robinson Township. My favorite stop is IKEA where I can stock up on fabulous Scandanavian foods and cool housewares. If I time it right, I may be able to have their Swedish meatballs and lingonberries for lunch. Tasty.
Really, I prefer the chaos of the shopping the day after Thanksgiving, but I can’t seem to convince anyone on Randy’s side of the family how much fun it is fighting to get good bargains. Oh well. At least I’ll be almost done with my Christmas shopping. Maybe I’ll even be able to work on writing our annual Christmas letter when we get home tonight. No, I’ll probably collapse from shopping exhaustion and delirium.

Glad to hear that you made it to VA safely. Be careful shopping the day after Thanksgiving! Wear a helmet and strap some pillow around you for extra protection. You’d be amazed at the lengths some will go to for a $29.99 food processor.
