Today is our tenth anniversary and it’s difficult to believe how quickly the time has flown by. In some ways it seems like yesterday we were planning our whirlwind wedding. On the other hand, we’ve had so many adventures, it’s tough to believe we’ve packed it all into just ten years!
I feel really blessed that both sets of our parents are still married. I think it’s a testament to their hard work, sheer willpower, senses of humor and submission to God that they’ve kept it all going all these years. When I was young, my parents told me so many times that marriage wasn’t just romance but hard work and sacrifice. Even now, they continue to be each other’s favorite companions.
I am so fortunate to be married to Randy. He is truly my most favorite person in the whole world. I hope that in my lifetime I learn to be as generous and optimistic as he is.
On a lighter note, ten years ago while we celebrated our wedding we were rooting for the Steelers to win the Superbowl (Randy grew up forty-five minutes from downtown Pittsburgh). I grew up in Seattle, so this year, for at least one Sunday, we will be a house divided. I think we’ll manage.

Congratulations! Ten years is wonderful. I really enjoy the wedding photo!

I’m sure the next ten years will be filled with joy and adventure too. You both look lovely in the photo! Congratulations!!
Thanks, Eugenia and Karen. Our wedding day was really happy even though we were just exhausted. My friends called Randy “D’artanian” and they called me “Imelda.” Randy’s hair and goatee were so great — my knight in shining armor. That wedding dress and headpiece just had so many beads and bobbles I was afraid I was going to take somebody’s eye out while giving hugs to everybody.
