Dreaming of Seattle

Gnome Dawg in Seattle

Instead of pulling the two chicken breasts off of our George Foreman Grill, I’m watching QVC (I’ve just pulled the forgotten pieces of poultry off of the grill and although a bit dry now, are luckily for me, still edible). It’s not that I’m avoiding things, I just don’t feel particularly motivated.
Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about seeing my family in Seattle and getting to hang out with Randy on the trip there and back. I think it’s just the hassle of choosing what to wear, gathering all the little items, and trying to fit it all into our suitcases. Travel has lost some of its romance over the years.
I’ll see if I can’t take some interesting pictures while in the Emerald City although most of the time I’ll be seeing family, at a convention in Tukwila, or eating my way through the local favorites.

Things I’d like to do on my visit to Seattle:

  • Get a Deluxe burger at Dick’s
  • Walk through Pike Place Market like a tourist
  • Get a mocha from Seattle’s Best Coffee where you get a piece of chocolate to eat with your mocha
  • Finally take a tour of Underground Seattle
  • Eat mizithra cheese on my spaghetti at The Old Spaghetti Factory
  • Drive out to Snoqualmie Falls (as seen in the opening credits of the cult t.v. show “Twin Peaks“)
  • Experience the ambience, view, and the Burnt Cream Sampler at Palisade
  • Watch the 4th of July fireworks over Lake Union
  • Get a slice of Pesto Primo pizza from Pagliacci Pizzeria
  • Split a famous 12 egg omelette (with all-you-can-eat hasbrowns) from Beth’s Cafe

Well, you got to do the top four. Not bad considering that you got to spend a lot of time with your family. I hope the trip was good for you.
