I had my first baby shower this weekend with Randy’s family. It was wonderful but completely overwhelming. My sister-in-law Karen told me to enjoy the attention as once the baby comes, it’ll be “April who?” but I think I’m more comfortable with that than being so directly in the limelight.
One thing I know for sure is that this baby won’t have to worry about being naked much as I have dozens of cute outfits for her already and I haven’t bought one of them myself. I am humbled by the generosity that is being shown to us.
We’ve decided that we need a full-size dresser, not the child-sized furniture we were contemplating. I’m glad the shower given by my friend Gwen for the women at church will be mid-March as it’ll take me a month to sort through the gifts and get everything washed and ready for the baby. Let’s hope she doesn’t decide to come too early.
