Day 4 of motherhood has been good. Kes isn’t very interactive but she does let us know when she needs something. Just like when my niece Taylor was a baby, my favorite part is feeling her baby skin — so smooth and soft. I’m just glad that babies start off small and with simple needs as that give us new parents a chance to figure things out a little at a time. Besides, with the sleep deprivation that has just begun, more complicated tasks could get messy.
I think that motherhood is like the improvisational t.v. show “Thank God You’re Here” where participants walk through a door on the stage into a situation and have to make up their part on the spot. These comedians have no idea what the sketch will be about, what character they play, or have any lines of dialog provided beforehand — they just have to make it up as best as they can. Maybe that’s just how life works in general.

The difference between motherhood and improv is that when the comedians get stuck, the bell rings and the sketch is over. In motherhood if you get stuck, you call your friends. :)
