Motherhood seems both natural and strange at the same time. Kes is a very easy-going baby, though, so we count ourselves very blessed.
My parents visited for four weeks from Seattle and it was great. My mom was completely in her element helping me by cooking, cleaning, shopping for groceries, etc. My dad helped by watching Kes when Mom and I were busy. The most fun was watching them interact with the baby. Everything she does is magic to them and they lit up every time she smiled or cooed. My parents also took a strong liking to our cats Avalon and Maximus and did their best to fatten up the cats with lots of extra treats. It’s been a tough couple of days adjustment since my parents left.
I feel like my mind is a sieve. A three-hour stretch of sleep seems like a luxury already due to those pesky ’round-the-clock feedings. When I dropped off my dry-cleaning last week, and the clerk asked for my phone number, I couldn’t remember it.
I’ve posted a few more pictures on our flickr.com photostream.
